Making a Difference Together : Otto Kitchen x Mind
Welcome to Otto Kitchen, where every dish we serve tells a story. As a socially responsible restaurant, we are not just about providing the finest dining experience, but also about making a positive impact on our community. That’s why we are excited to announce our collaboration with the charity organization, Mind. As you may know, Mind is a UK-based charity that provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Mind has been making a significant impact in our community for years, and we are proud to support their efforts. In this blog, we want to share with you the incredible work that Mind is doing in our community and how we, as a restaurant, are supporting their cause. We will also provide some tips on how you, as an individual, can get involved and help make a positive impact in the lives of those struggling with mental health issues.
Mind is a renowned organization with a vision to provide support and respect to all individuals who are facing mental health problems. Their unwavering commitment to this cause is reflected in their belief that no one should be left behind in their struggle with mental health issues. Their vision underscores the crucial need to address the stigma surrounding mental illness and the pervasive inequalities that exist in the current mental health care system. The ultimate goal is to ensure that every individual receives the care and support they need to overcome their mental health challenges, regardless of their background, socioeconomic status, or any other factor.
To achieve this vision, Mind has established itself as a leading provider of mental health services, advocacy, and education. They work tirelessly to create a society that is more informed, empathetic, and supportive towards individuals who experience mental health problems.
In terms of mission, their purpose is centered around providing advice and assistance to anyone who is experiencing these difficulties, with the ultimate goal of helping them to overcome these challenges and lead fulfilling lives. The organization recognizes the importance of not only providing direct support to those in need, but also advocating for broader changes within society that can help to improve mental health outcomes for all individuals. Through their work, Mind strives to make a positive impact on the lives of those who are affected by mental illness, as well as on the broader community as a whole.
We couldn’t lead the fight for mental health without volunteers. Mind volunteers play a huge part in everything they do. And volunteering at Mind can be an incredibly rewarding and valuable experience. Here are the ways you can support them:
• Volunteering at one of their shops:
You can volunteer in one of over 100 Mind shops and have the opportunity to meet numerous individuals and acquire new skills.
• Joining them at Mind HQ:
You can volunteer at their head offices located in London or Cardiff, give your time at a local Mind center, or provide your assistance remotely from home.
• Cheering at an Event:
You can help them cheer on their fantastic runners, walkers and cyclists. They have lots of events across the country to get involved in.
• Joining the Youth Voice Network
The purpose of our Youth Voice Network is to amplify the opinions of young individuals. They aim to provide you with the opportunity to contribute your ideas and thoughts regarding the matters they are addressing, and they will attentively consider your feedback.
We take pride in the accomplishments they achieved in 2021/2022 and would like to share some of them with you.
• Mind responded to over 118,000 queries to our support and information helplines.
• Their mental health information was accessed 21.4 million times.
• Almost 2 million people had a conversation about mental health as a result of Time to Talk Day.
• They reached over 1.8m employees through our workplace wellbeing programmes.

As a Otto Kitchen, we have been a beacon of culinary excellence. But more than just providing delicious food, we are a socially responsible restaurant that takes its commitment to the community seriously. We believe that being socially responsible is more than just a buzzword. It’s a philosophy that underpins everything we do. From hosting fundraisers for local charities to championing farm-to-table practices, we are always looking for ways to make a positive impact on the world around us.
One of the key ways we do this is by supporting local charities. We understand the importance of giving back to the community, which is why we regularly host events and fundraisers for local organizations. These events not only raise money for important causes, but they also help to bring the community together. Whether it’s through donating a percentage of our profits or organizing different joint events with similar establishments, we are always looking for ways to contribute to this noble cause. Our commitment to these values sets us apart from other local restaurants and ensures that our customers can enjoy a delicious meal with a clear conscience.
By coming together and supporting one another, we can create a brighter, more resilient, and compassionate society that benefits us all. So let’s not forget to give back to our community and support them in every possible way. Together, we can make a positive impact and help those in need.
